AIE, Seattle – Our game is based on the idea that it can take a significant amount of time to communicate with a rover on the surface of Mars (from a few minutes to nearly half an hour), which makes “driving” a challenge. The player is tasked with exploring the surface of Mars and drilling for soil samples before the Martian day ends.
Play by clicking the various commands at Mission Control, then wait for the command to reach your rover and the results to make it back to Earth. Directional arrows drive the rover, the camera exposes more of the surface, and the drill probes for elements of interest.
Our game leverages a model of a Martian rover, as well as surface photography of the planet’s surface as the terrain.
